The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires vehicle registration tags to be renewed every year on a specific date.
✓ DMV FORMS
✓ MONTHLY STICKER REPLACEMENT
✓ CHANGE OF ADDRESS
✓ CHECK DMV FEES
✓ NOTICE OF TRANSFER & RELEASE LIABILITY
✓ INSURANCE SUSPENSION (REINSTATEMENT)
✓ PLANNED NON OPERATION
✓ REGISTRATION RENEWAL
✓ AND MORE!!!!!!
You may renew your registration at any time however there are penalties associated with renewing late. California does not allow a grace period for registration renewal. Penalties accrue the day after your tags expire. Late fees depend on when your payment is made. If you drive with expired tags the penalty will be severe as your vehicle may be impounded. To expedite the process please bring your smog check (if required).
If you have received a noticed after selling your vehicle, please make sure you have notified your local Department of Motor Vehicle(DMV) within 10 days of the sale, as this is the responsibility of the seller/owner.
If you plan on not longer driving your vehicle, you do not need to renew your registration as long as your payments, are up to date. A small fee applies to maintain the vehicle at your residence. Once approved, the vehicle will not be allowed to operate, or moved anywhere off your residence. Violation will result in possible citation.
